Music Arts Update
Summer Quarter 2001
May 28 - September 2, 2001

Do Your Friends and Neighbors a Favor

Did you know that any student who refers a new student to us (someone who hasn't studied with us in at least the past four years) earns free lessons? Tell everyone about the terrific instructors at Music Arts, and when they sign up, you'll get one free lesson for every Quarter they complete. And that's good for two years! Check out the details in your Student Guide (see page 8 of the print version).

Extra Week...?

Have you noticed that our enclosed bill wants you to believe there are 14 weeks in the Summer Quarter?

Yes, it's true. For the first time in more than a dozen years, Music Arts must adjust for time slippage or some such strangeness.

Our quarters are supposed to start on the first Mondays of September, November, March, and June. By having 14 weeks instead of the usual 13, we'll be back on schedule next Fall Quarter. Enjoy your extra week!

Did You Get a Summer Quarter Discount?

As we explained in your copy of the Music Arts Student Guide, if you pay your Music Arts bills on time -- no later than mailing the 3rd of the month or bringing it in person to our office by the 5th of the month -- from the beginning of Fall Quarter, then you've earned a 10 percent discount on your continuing Summer Quarter lessons. if you didn't see the discount on your invoice, but you feel you should have gotten the discount and want to check your account, please call us at 865-482-5614.

And if you'd like to cash in on this little piece of wallet bliss next Summer, remember to get those payments to us on time!

If you're not an early bird, be reassured that there is still a grace period before that $4 Late Fee is imposed. But if it's in the mail after the 17th or hand-delivered to our office after the 19th, the late fee pops up on your next bill.

Wouldn't you rather get that 10% discount?

"My Music Teacher is Special Because..." Contest!

Everyone likes to be patted on the head from time to time. Music Arts instructors are no different!

So we're sponsoring a contest whic has two purposes:

  1. To give our wonderful instructors a good case of the "Warm Fuzzies"
  2. To gather some material to spotlight in an Oak Ridger "Intermission" feature article about Music Arts this coming fall, on August 30.

Students of all ages, grab a pencil or word processor and let us know what you think is special about your teacher!

There is no limit on how much you can write. If you can say it in two sentences, give us two sentences! if you want to write a book, go for it! (But we may want to edit it a bit if it's going in the newspaper or the Fall Quarter "Update").

We're not limiting this to words, though! If you're better at expressing yourself with crayons or paint, send us your art work! (Psst... The Oak Ridger loves color artwork!)

Our Board of Directors will serve as judges. Every Music Arts student (no matter what age) who sends in an entry will get one free lesson in the Fall Quarter! And the three top winners will each receive five free lessons! Send your entry to our office: 861 West Outer Drive, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.

Your stuff needs to be in no later than the beginning of August. Better yet, get busy on your entry and send it to us right away. Why wait!?
