Stacy Taylor

Stacy Taylor, Violin Instructor

Stacy Taylor earned her Master's degree in music from the University of Tennessee. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the Springfield (Missouri) Symphony Orchestra. Now a member of the Knoxville Symphony violin section, she is in great demand as a freelance player.

Taylor primarily limits herself to teaching students who have had at least one year of instruction, but will consider taking beginners upon audition. A tireless and energetic person, she displays great patience with students and a deep understanding of the effort required to master the violin. She feels strongly that students should practice regularly, and watches the student's technical progress very carefully.

As conductor of the Oak Ridge Community Orchestra and assistant conductor of the Knoxville Youth Symphony and the Knoxville Opera Company, her teaching time is limited, and she frequently has a waiting list for violin instruction. She teaches on Sundays at her home in West Knoxville.
