Harold Nagge

Harold Nagge, Guitar Instructor

Harold Nagge has a Master's in guitar performance from the University of Tennessee, where he studied with jazz giant Jerry Coker. Nagge teaches at UT, Pellissippi State, and Roane State. His specialty is jazz and jazz improvisation, although he teaches classical guitar, folk, and Spanish guitar as well.

His excellent general music background, which comes from having advanced degrees, allows him to give his students a broad knowledge of all aspects of performance. Not suprisingly, he emphasizes music theory in lessons, as a way to better understand the music and perform. He is well-respected among the guitar community and has a quiet and encouraging style in lessons. Although he prefers more advanced students, he will, on audition, take beginners.
