Shannon Hamblen

Shannon Hamblen, Instructor in Bluegrass Fiddle, Mandolin, and Guitar

Shannon Hamblen, one of the area's best fiddlers, earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Belmont University in Nashville.

He has studied classical music, as well as bluegrass and country. His students say he "knows his stuff" and are very enthusiastic about going to lessons. He teaches rote (by ear) as well as reading sheet music and tablature. A cheerful, patient, and nurturing teacher, as well as flexible and well organized, he is exceptionally courteous and polite. He thoroughly enjoys playing duets with students, as well as playing their pieces along with them. Adding a certain amount of structure to lessons, he incorporates exercises, sight reading, music history, and appreciation.
