What I Like About My Instructor!

Shannon Hamblen (Bluegrass Fiddle and Mandolin)

Christopher Sy writes:

Hi! My name is Christopher Sy and Shannon Hamblen is my Music Arts teacher for fiddle and mandolin. He is special because he is very talented, helpful and fun.

He is very talented because he can play very well. He teaches me a lot about the fiddle. He writes out all of my songs himself and plays along with me with his guitar. If I hear a song I like and want to learn to play, he will listen to it and write the music out for me.

I think he is very helpful because he understands what I do wrong and explains it to me. Shannon is very patient and understanding. He doesn't get upset if I play a wrong note. He has me back up and play it again. When I play something good he will say, "Good job," or "Way to go."

He is a great Music Arts teachers and musician. He is also a great teach in other ways. Shannon has taught me how to be able to play in public. I even enjoy playing in front of others.

These are some of the reasons I think Shannon Hamblen is the best Music Arts teacher for fiddle and mandolin in the world!

My name is Madison.  I am 7 and Mr. Hamblen has been my teacher for about a year. He is a great teacher. I like the way he plays his fiddle and teaches me new songs each week. He also plays along with his guitar to help me get better at keeping time. He is really nice and I have learned many songs from him. My mom says his patience and love of teaching really impress her. I am glad he is my teacher.
