Lisa Griggs

Lisa Griggs, Voice Instructor

A native Oak Ridger, Griggs has earned a Bachelor's and a Master's of Music from the University of Tennessee in vocal performance. A member of the Knoxville Opera Company, she enjoys working with a variety of music, including opera, Broadway, pop, and church. She is willing to work with any music style, including church and country, but will not encourage students to try hard screeching rock. As part of vocal instruction, Griggs works with all areas of vocal instruction, including projection, breath control, stage presence, pitch control, vibrato, etc.

Griggs is admired for her very professional attitude as her skill at diagnosing vocal problems and helping students progress. She prefers to work with students age 12 and up because of the demands of vocal training, but she will audition and teach younger students if their attention span and willingness to work are there.
