Nancy England

Nancy England, Cello Instructor

Nancy England received her training the Eastman School of Music. She has served as principal cellist of the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra and has been a member of the Knoxville Symphony. More recently, she was the founder of Oak Ridge Community Orchestra and is founder and Executive Director of Music Arts. In addition, she is the President of the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association for 2001-2002.

Trained in viola da gamba, the predecessor of the cello, as well as the cello, she offers lessons in either. She has coached student string quartets and enjoys working with all levels, and she is known as a patient, creative, and upbeat teacher. She offers workshops in theory, music history, ensemble playing, and other topics.
